Driving Directions

Take Interstate Route 80 west towards the Delaware Water Gap. Immediately beyond milepost 1, take the exit for "Dunnfield Creek/Appalachian Trail” and bear left at the fork. Continue past the underpass to the left and turn right into a parking area at signs with "P" and "hiker" symbols. (If you miss the exit from Route 80, take Exit 1, turn left at the end of the ramp, and continue on the service road parallel to Route 80 past the visitor center. Turn left at the underpass, go under Route 80, turn left again, and turn right at signs with "P" and "hiker" symbols.)

TAMMANY LOVE LOOPS

Mt. Tammany - Deleware Water Gap: Sunday, May 21, 2017 @ 11:00am

The Delaware Water Gap is part of the National Park Service as a recreation area along a portion of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania border. The “Gap” is the result of the Delaware River cutting through a section of the Appalachian Mountains, which is home to the Appalachian Trail that runs from Georgia all the way to Maine. The Gap is a wonderful playground for those that love the outdoors and offers hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, rafting, and of course… trail running.

RVRR, RVTR, TRAIL WHIPPASS, WHIPPETS, PACERS, ETC... JOIN US FOR SOME TAMMANY LOOPS!

The guest list was a headache and we realllllllly wanted to invite everyone. Unfortunately, we couldn't.
So, here's our solution,  a fun run at one of our favorite training grounds!

CALLING ALL RUNNING (& HIKING) FRIENDS!  EVERYONE IS INVITED!

We have been to the Mt. Tammany area of the Gap many times and feel fortunate that we have this great resource only a little more than an hour away from home. We know that some of you have also been to Mt. Tammany and feel the same way that we do about spending time in the woods there. For those of you that have not yet been to the Delaware Water Gap we hope that you will consider joining us on a group run/hike the day after the wedding on Sunday, May 21st at 11:00am.

Leaving from the Dunnfield parking lot area, the Red Dot trail on the climb up to the overlook on Mt. Tammany should take about 30-45 minutes (depending on how many pictures we take, hehe). Trail running shoes are highly recommended for this loop. This isn’t a race, so hopefully we can all stay together for the most part.

For those that don’t feel they are quite ready for a technical challenge, you can always hike up the gentler Dunnfield Creek trail to Sunfish Pond. This trail is very popular, well-maintained, and better suited for people to enjoy the woods without having to worry about treacherous footing.

We love running in the mountains and the woods, and we hope that you can join us in our most favorite activity! See you at the Water Gap!
